Fathers Day Favourites | Giveaway | Cultus Lake Golf Club Nine Kitchen and Lounge & Fraser Valley Meats

Giveaway Closed Congratulations Jaime Hughes!!

Happy Fathers Day Month! Dads deserve a whole month of celebrating to because they also work really hard! They are always working their butts off and they too need to be given lots of love.

Fathers Day to me, is an important one. Because I love being able to show our little ones how special it is to really give a whole day appreciating the person that is also raising them. To really make sure they know how much they need to give their love to him all the time.

At 24 years old Drew became a Dad for the first time and it was one of the most amazing times in his and my life. Not only did we have a new baby to take care of but I was able to see this brand new, special side of Drew. It was the most meaningful moments for the both of us.

It was like he opened his eyes for the first time and could breathe. He loves being a dad. He loves sharing his love with us. And I can say, that I know this man would do anything for his family. So the least we could do is celebrate him and share this amazing giveaway of his favourites to a special dad that you know!

All dads deserve to be spoiled to!

Cultus Lake Golf Course.

Drew loves golfing here. Mind you time isn’t always there, but when he does he loves these greens and the beautiful views. Not to mention the brand new Top Tracer Lounge you can rent with up to six friends and enjoy a little afternoon hanging out hitting some balls in the driving range! Fully set up with heaters, drinks, music and really just a good time all around!

Fraser Valley Meats.

Drew spends every weekend here. At least once a weekend. He disappears and comes out with all kinds of goodies to make the best BBQ’s. He’s always filling up our bellies with some delicious meals from here. Also, really love the kids shopping carts and play area. And while your in there you can grab all kinds of stuff, everything you need to make an excellent meal with family and friends. Couple of must buys… the chicken pot pie and maui ribs!!!

Nine Kitchen & Lounge.

Did someone say PIZZAA?? This spot just recently opened up in Abbotsford and we had the chance to visit it over the weekend. Such a sweet little gem! Outdoor seating for warm nights and cute little spots to sit at inside. The menu was loaded with food and drinks! I’m pretty sure Drew wanted to marry the pizza served here. It was his absolute favourite he could not stop talking about how much he loved it!

How You Can Give Back In Your Community | TELUS #MostGivingCompany

This past weekend Owen and I had the opportunity to volunteer our afternoon and give back in our community with the TELUS team. It was rainy and cloudy but it was the most real genuine fun we’ve had together. It wasn’t about schedules or doing good or not. It was simply helping cleaning up trash in the area we live in. And knowing that with each single piece picked up we were helping the environment also had us feeling so good.

Ultimate Family Stay with The Cove Lakeside Resort | Kelowna

We were eagerly awaiting this little destination trip with the entire family to The Cove Lakeside Resort located in West Kelowna. Our drive was quick and beautiful, so much scenery. The views of the mountains and lake was so nice to see. This was our first time travelling to Kelowna and visiting. It didn’t disappoint that is for sure.

Settled right on the edge of Okanagan Lake is this wonderful resort that is full of amenities, the location couldn’t be anymore perfect and the staff that work here totally have my heart. They were so accommodating and helpful. So eager to make sure that we had the perfect stay with them. I will always be super thankful for how great that made us feel by visiting. Oh I should also mention free parking!

The Cove Lakeside Resort is filled with things to see and things to do. Starting with their BonFire Restaurant. The Spa At The Cove, which one evening I even had the chance to sneak away to and receive an hour long massage. It was hands down the best massage I’ve ever had. So good to the point of falling asleep and waking up feeling in a relaxed fog all evening. I literally walked away and left all my stress. It was magical.

The boys even had their chance to adventure with LakeSurf Okanagan, located just beside The Cove Lakeside Resort at the marina. They rented a double kayak and went out for an hour around Okanagan Lake in the beautiful sunny weather. They also rent out boats, paddle boards, kayaks and more. We had the friendliest and most helpful service to. The boys enjoyed the assisting and being able to sneak away to take it all in.

Once they returned we all dipped into the outside pool or should I say poolsssss. Just outside in the front they have the best swimming area for the family. With tons of lounge chairs, umbrellas and two pools to cool off in one even having a long winding waterslide Owen loved!

With that they also have a hot tub, plus a fitness centre that also has it’s own hot tub…. and I’m not even down there! hahaha We even got to spend a little time in their private movie theatre equipped with a big screen and rows of lazy boy seating. And the perfect pairing is their snack baskets to purchase while watching your movie pick!

Like I said there is so much to explore just at The Cove Lakeside Resort. It’s perfect for families and meeting friends for a fun stay. They also provide bike rentals, tennis court and putting greens. Located just off to the side is the lake front beaches that connect to a walking trail that also leads into a park for the little ones! And if you feel like exploring the trail some more towards the other end leads you to docks and one more park!

Can’t forget our rooms! They were so full of space. With a full amenity kitchen, dining room, play area and office. With three full bedrooms that also have closets and full bathrooms. No fighting over who gets the better room because they were all the best. Moms, you will enjoy this, but they also provide laundry!! Single washer and dryers were located in our own room!! Squeal of joy when I saw this. Every trip there is always someone using up way to many outfits and getting dirty within two seconds. hahaha

If there’s one thing I love about vacation is being able to keep the little ones busy, having fun and relaxed. Drew and I both agreed though if all we did all weekend was relaxed on the suite porch over looking the lake drinking coffee and watching the kids play. That would’ve been just fine with us! But of course we toured around Kelowna to see what the busy, beautiful city had to offer and I will most defiantly say there is more to come…

This Summer if your planning your next stay in the Kelowna area I would for sure put The Cove Lakeside Resort on your bucket list of places to stay! You won’t want to leave!

A Weekend Exploring Richmond with Vancouver Mom River Rock Casino Resort & Tourism Richmond | Places To Visit…

May Long Weekend!

Normally, we spend this time home working on the house, catching up on chores and just relaxing. But this year we were invited by Vancouver Mom to share a fun experience with River Rock Resort and Visit Richmond Tourism. To tour around this unique and bustling city full of secret little gems that our family fell in love with.

To be real honest, this was our first time really visiting Richmond. We’ve driven through plenty of times to get our butts to the airport but nothing like this. So needless to say we were really excited to try and see some new things. We of course started our little weekend journey by stopping into…

River Rock Casino & Resort

Beautiful! If we had to describe it in one word. It’s huge and it’s full of close by amenities. Which is always a huge bonus knowing you don’t have to walk far for things. The bus station, the skytrain station, pool & fitness centre. Huge ballrooms, Starbucks, the casino, a convenient store. Not to mention the Absolute Spa which I had the chance to visit for a massage. It was so relaxing and comforting in there. It was an absolute amazing experience at this spa.

There are also on site three restaurants The Buffet which we had the chance to try out one evening. Such great food and so many options to choose from. We filled up! Then you’ll also find Curve Lounge & Tramonto. All very amazing choices to choose from if you kind of want to stay close. And if you want to stay in you could always choose room service like us! Breakfast room service isn’t as fancy with kids as it is on movies though! haha Food was worth the craziness!

You’ll also find free parking along with Valet parking of course. I can’t forget to mention the poooolllll. I have to express my huge appreciation to River Rock Resort for putting so much love and attention into their family pool & hot tub. Our little ones played in it all night and day. It was a struggle to get them out. That’s how much they enjoyed it! With a 5ft seawater pool attached is a really fun rock waterslide. And off to the side real close is their hot tub! We loved every minute hanging out here. We came home so relaxed and refreshed with so many good things to say about our stay!

Steveston & Fishermans Wharf

Saturday morning first thing we packed up and hit up the Steveston area visiting the Fishermans Wharf. Walking along the dock forever.. It was just so beautiful to see all the boats and view. We stopped for some Ice cream of course and visited the Seafood Market which was a dream for us! We love seafood! We also explored cute little shops along the strip and just enjoyed our time and the sunny weather.

Rocanini Coffee

Drew and I wanted to treat ourselves a little so in Steveston we found this cute little cafe and ordered some caffeine to keep up with the little ones. We defiantly recommend visiting this place. It was delish and the nicest vibes to.

Gulf of Georgia Cannery

If you love to learn a little bit about the area your visiting to you should visit the Gulf of Georgia Cannery. It was really cool to learn more about the West Coast Fishing industry today and in the past. We know a lot of East Coast Fishing being from Nova Scotia so it was neat to see the difference.

Garry Point Park

This was a super cool spot to check out with lots along the way to see! Again, beautiful views. The kids just walked forever Saturday!

Spirit Tea

I was looking for this place. I needed a little “mommy minute” So glad we found it to. It was absolutely stunning. Serving tea in ever way imaginable. It was gorgeous to. I recommend the Strawberry to!

Richmond Night Market

Remember how I said everything is really close to the River Rock Resort?? Well this being one of them, the Richmond Night Market. It’s literally a rock throw away. Unreal! We simply just walked over one evening beating all of that parking and congestion on the road. So easy!

This was our first time and it was the coolest experience. Open Friday Saturday & Sunday 7pm-12am. We first hit up some yummy food. Ribs, Mango Strawberry Ice Cream with Shaved Ice. Pork, Ribs, Potato Wedges. Everything you could imagine. Once our bellies were full we took the kids around to play some fun games which they both won something little to take home.

So much to see there and enjoy. Booths along the middle full of things for sale to like a little market!

Experience Better Vision with IRIS & Picking Frames

The start of this year had brought on some exciting news for us… drum roll… we are officially members of the IRIS Vision year long family! We were thrilled with this news. I mean we have always been a huge fan of IRIS and a little sentimental when it comes to using them. They were the first place we had gone to when we first realized that Owen needed glasses. He was turning 5 years old and now 10!
