Go Play Outside at Mount Engadine Lodge Glamping Tents

We just came home from a really peaceful & relaxing stay at Mount Engadine. Way out into the backcountry in Kananaskis is a lodge in the middle of nowhere that is a must to visit at any season of the year. Mount Engadine was built in 1987 just in time for the Winter 1988 Calgary Olympics. Alpine and Nordic ski areas are just nearby. At the start it was just the lodge then eventually cabins were built then glamping tents & a yurt!

We just had the pleasure of staying in the glamping tents. This was definitely a new experience for us and quite honestly we are ready to go back for a Winter trip. We loved it that much.

Getting there we had the chance to test drive the new 2021 Mercedes Benz GLB35 AMG. Driving this vehicle was a dream. Equipped with everything you need to make the most of your family road trip. Cozy leather seats, spacious surroundings. Bluetooth, dual sun roofs. Triple fan AC in the front with a couple in the back. Phone changing station in the middle area that you simply just lay your phone down on and cover. It’s incredible the new technology in the GLB35 AMG. The style and class of the GLB35 AMG is like no other. Its the perfect look and perfect size for any family on the go.

It’s 4Matic all wheel drive seating up to 7 people. The most favourite was the bluetooth and iPhone set up so the kids could listen to all their favourite music along the way or when they needed a break we could easily switch to music Drew and I love. It drive and handles amazingly. With fuel capacity up to 60L. It’s the coziest drive to make any family trip an easy one on everyone!

This Mercedes Benz makes it on our families go-to vehicle of 2021!

It’s fully equipped with an en suite bathroom. King sized bed that can separate into two twin sized beds. A pull out couch. A gas fireplace, private deck, gas fireplace and with each stay your gourmet meals will be included. Breakfast, a packed lunch, afternoon tea & dinner. Our family also really loved how pet friendly they were here. In the room they had waiting for Macy a pet bed, a dog bowl for food & water as well as a cute moose cookie!

In the evening we pulled out the couch for the kids and we adults shared the king sized bed. We turned on the gas fireplace before falling asleep and the whole tent was just so cozy. We snuggled up and slept like babies all night it was so quiet.

With each stay you are totally remote from the rest of the world which includes no service, no tv, no jacks for phones. It’s very quiet and provides an oasis and this total relaxation retreat. We enjoyed it so much and it felt so good to be so disconnected. We also really appreciated how eco-friendly they were. The lodge relies on a generator & battery bank for the power source.

Meadow Trail

Our little ones were just so excited to get outside and play in the meadow. A short trail down the bank is this sweet little spot throughout the meadow that has this flowing stream of water. Surrounded by tall grass and wildflowers. You can spot the lodge on the top of the hill. Mountains wrap around your view. It’s such an “ahhhhh” moment. The four of us just stopped to take it all in and enjoy ourselves.

Spray Lake

On our second day during our stay we decided to take our paddleboards to Spray Lake. It’s a very short distance down the road. We hopped in the car with our packed lunch from the lodge and set off to paddle and enjoy a picnic. There are lots of side stops you can make around the lake and enjoy the views while having lunch. We also noticed many trails along the lake and behind it as well. Mount Engadine has a list of hikes that might be of interest.

The lake was cold but refreshing. The kids and Drew both jumped in along with Macy! I myself loved my comfort spot on my paddleboard enjoying the mountain views. We saw many paddle boarders and others with kayaks so that might be a great idea to keep in mind as well!

I would also suggest packing for the weather but also keeping in mind that it is highly elevated where evening does cool off a little more. Pack a sweater even in Summer and I would recommend bug spray just in case. My motto is always pack more than less just in case because you never know. Keep in mind footwear if you plan on hiking. You can also fish there as well so maybe bring your rod & license.

We would highly recommend visiting and before you do visit their website and you will find many helpful things to direct you into the right direction. It really is the best getaway and we would do it again anytime!
