Working from home really went into perspective for many of us starting last year. I have been really enjoying trying to figure out that new dynamic with the family home and trying to balance it all. My office, became more of my little oasis away and really needed a happy pick me up from the blaaahhh look it had.
Mini Blueberry Heart Pies
I started this little fun one the other week I had full intentions of it actually not working out because a lot of what I try to do just doesn’t work out as planned sometimes. This one though threw me for a curve ball and not only turned out great but also tasted so good to.
See, I’m one of those weirdos that just doesn’t like pie crusts so this was kinda perfect for me. My husband thinks I’m crazy, I’m just not a crust person in general hahaha
BC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Choices Lottery Grand Prize Home
I started to reminisce the other day about a time when we were kids and our parents used to round all of us kids up on a Sunday and drive us to all the lottery homes to tour them and dream. It was always very exciting for all of us, even just the thought would give us chills. Being able to see the many different homes and styles brilliantly done always made us wide-eyed.
Fast forward to my 30s and I’m now that mom touring BC Children’s Hospital Foundation’s Choices Lottery Homes. Drew and I had the morning off and we took advantage of the date day to drive to South Surrey and tour the multi-million dollar lottery home that a lucky winner could win when purchasing a Choices Lottery Grand Prize ticket. Sharon Hendrix of Sterling Home Staging & Design is the incredible designer of this grand prize home, and she met us at the home and toured us around. This home was beyond anything we even imagined. It is fully equipped with 4 bedrooms, 5 bathrooms, media room, bar, office, workout room, tons of storage, garage, white crisp clean kitchen, patio and not to forget the 2 bedroom & 1 bathroom rental suite. A total of 3,575 sqft. This prize package also comes with $75,000 in furnishings, a 2020 Mercedes Benz GLC 350 electric and $750,000 cash. This total grand prize package is worth over $2.5 million!
My Favourites | Throw Pillow Round Up
I made this kinda funny, well I thought it was funny tik tok the other day. You can find it on my Instagram also. The “sorry not sorry” for buying MORE throw pillows! hahaha I seriously love them and have an addiction. But not to just any I have a specific taste and style. When it comes down to it so do the kids and Drew.
A few things I like looking for are comfiness (if that’s even a word!haha) but how comfy it is and what’s it stuffed with. I think the soft feather fill is the favourite here. At GP Furniture they have so many of these styled pillows with funny cute quotes that put a smile on our faces. They are the perfect size to, not to big and not to small. Just right!
I also found that Article, had some really great styling pillows including Sheepskin Seat Pads, that sound amazing. They have some great colours and textures to. Another favourite place is Loloi Rugs, they also have throw pillows that are drop dead gorgeous!
…Snow Shoeing With My Little Ones
Yesterday we tried something new. Snow shoeing! We took the kids to Manning Park and rented some snow shoes. Going into this I knew that I would just be taking it one minute at a time with two kids. We settled outside together and strapped on our snow shoes and off we went. Again, keeping in mind I knew what to expect haha with both kids. So I didn’t get my hopes to up on finding the most exhilarating trails. I kept my focus on small, easy and basically whatever they could manage.
…Before & After Painted Vintage Dresser
Look at this fabulous job my husband did painting this vintage dresser!
Yup, I give him credit. I went into this project knowing darn well it was mine to do and my guy stepped right in. He loved the look of this dresser just as much as I did. The uniqueness of this dresser totally caught my eye. It was screaming my name and better yet it was screaming to be painted black. As soon as we loaded it home, Drew asked “What colour are we going with this time?” I knew it needed to be black. The antique look of the black and gold handles. I wanted the colour to keep it’s historic look and really make it pop.

My family likes to joke with me, I’m always the one re-arranging furniture and finding new pieces to bring into our home to try out. It’s a lot of fun and keeps things interesting. Needless to say, I enjoy a little feng shui if you will. This is where Eternity Modern comes into play.
