Our family visit to the Fairmont Vancouver to watch our first ever Vancouver Santa Claus Parade was by far one of our most memorable family weekends away. To start off I’m not going to get into detail the stress we endured to make it there with rush hour traffic. So lets skip that part! The boys had decided that they also wanted to watch the hockey game at Rogers Arena before hand. The Toronto Maple Leafs (Drew’s favourite team) were in Vancouver for the only time this year to play the Canucks. They had the best time together! It was one of their first games together as well so it was extra special.
Ella and I stayed at the hotel and lounged the night away, with a visit to the pool of course! It was a very relaxing evening and I enjoyed it even if we did nothing but watch movies and eat junk food. The Christmas tree was set up just out front of our window at the Art Gallery every time we looked out we were filled with holiday spirit, gearing up for our early morning and busy day ahead with the Telus crew for the Santa Claus Parade.
After one of the best hotel sleeps of my life, we headed to Fairmont’s top floor for an amazing buffet breakfast. It was beautifully set up and Ella got to meet Santa for the first time ever! With full bellies we made it outside for some fun and action. Crafts and games for the kids! Then thanks to Telus our family had very honourable seats to sit and watch the parade with excitement. This was also Ella’s first time watching a parade. She had many firsts that weekend and the joy in her eyes was like nothing I’ve seen before. It was truly a magical night away that got us all ready for Christmas. The fake snow blowing from the floats, the magical lights and even a little visit from Santa.
The kids had a great time and were so thankful for the time away! We all need it now and again, near or far just that time away to help reset makes a huge difference. A HUGE thank you to our sponsors Telus and Fairmont Vancouver for the best family time away!
Wishing you and your family a very safe, healthy Christmas and New Years! xx
