Working from home really went into perspective for many of us starting last year. I have been really enjoying trying to figure out that new dynamic with the family home and trying to balance it all. My office, became more of my little oasis away and really needed a happy pick me up from the blaaahhh look it had.
I wanted to brighten it up and make it feel fresh. Adding in design and function for when I work. Drew and I teamed up with Home Hardware and we put our vision to life.
Measuring out all of our materials and paint ideas, we got to work.
First we made sure the office was clean from the ceiling to the floors. Everything was wash down and holes were filled. We then painted the walls from a dark grey to a nice bright white. Drew then went ahead by measuring out the wainscotting we needed and figured to place it just a little bit above half way so that we could install the wallpaper and display enough to see the whole pattern and really enjoy it.
I measured out the wallpaper from Wall Pops. It is the sticky kind which was perfect and so easy to apply. I made sure to level the print up with the next pieces beside it before cutting. Then once I found there was a consistent flow with the pattern I began to apply it. Cutting at the bottom where the wainscotting meets. Once I covered both walls. We then painted the wainscotting the same white as the walls to match.
Our final step was applying the transition strip! Then we were done. Drew had bought me a filing cabinet and new desk for Christmas from IKEA to make sure I had all the storage I need. And to feel really organized.
