I love these little added home decor touches, wooden beaded garlands. After Macy ended up chewing a few of my really beautiful and really expensive ones. I just decided to make my own!
Ella and I spent a hefty dollar at Michaels the other day and we got into a crafting mood. I grabbed two packages of one size and another package of smaller ones. Each pack costs $5. I used two packs per garland but depending on how long you like it totally depends on how many beads you need. I also grabbed some yarn for $4. You can also use twine from the dollar store works equally as well.
First I made my yarn “ghosts” as I call them. I wrapped my yarn around an even lope for 20 counts. Then where the bottom of the yarn is, it’s where I made my cut. Taking a smaller piece of yard I wrapped it around the middle section to leave a little space at the top.
I then tie my garland yarn in between my section on my yarn “ghosts”. Then I started to add my beads. Once I had all my beads on I made the other side yarn “ghost”. Tying it on nice and tight.
You can also paint your beads any colour you like and get creative with the designs and sizes. It was a super cheap diy and honestly might be able to make it even cheaper by searching the dollar store!
Have fun making your own wooden beaded garlands!
