Jones Lake Family Day

Finally, we were so lucky to have such a beautiful day on this day off with the whole family. So we escaped to the quiet, no noise in the middle of nowhere Jones Lake.

We love this view, I mean how could you not! The mountains and fresh air. It’s just so relaxing. The kids had a great time just being free, running around throwing rocks into the water and relaxing.

We needed more days like this. The drive up may have not been the smoothest on this logging road, haha.. But it made for an entertaining drive that’s for sure! But is it really an adventure if it doesn’t scare the shit out of you just a little?? haha

The goofiest faces for photos and off they went to play. Hoping to catch up with more cool mountain drives this Summer with this beautiful, fun family of mine! Possibly camp up here… who knows… start the planning now!

Best Friends At The Park

These two girls have been friends for more than half of their lives. Instant friendship. They’re so similar in so many ways. The sisters they don’t have! They are the cutest little duo together. I’m so thankful for a quick DM to Vanessa like three years ago to hang out and work together on some photos. It has taken us through years of friendship for the four of us! So awesome!

I love to set our beautiful table up and display it nice for our family. It was a long time dream to finally have a nice table of my own and we certainly make use of it.

Beaches To Visit | Tofino to Ucluelet

Growing up by the ocean holds a huge part of my childhood memories. So naturally we love being near the ocean always. Thats a big thing that makes us the most home sick, missing being near the beach. It’s another big reason to why we love visitng Tofino. The endless beaches to explore. Everything that reminds us of Nova Scotia. The relaxed atmosphere and chill vibes. The fresh ocean air and sounds of waves.

Family Memories Made at Pacific Sands

Once again we  had the most perfect opportunity to visit one of our favorite family destinations Pacific Sands located in Tofino. We spent two nights and three days at this beautiful place and for the second year in a row we made some really awesome family memories. Each time we leave a family holiday we always ask the kids if they are leaving with the best memories and they always say yes! That is when we know we’ve just had a successful trip!

Gorgeous Golden Hour

It felt so nice tonight to pay it forward to some gorgeous photographers that have stopped everything to help on days where I needed photos! Since getting our new camera it’s been such a sweet treat to learn more, play and be creative with it. Tonight was one of those nights!

Thankfully I have some wonderful friends who have guided me and helped me find what is most important to me when it comes to photography. This is something that has always been of interest to me, so being able to fulfill that passion has been so rewarding in so many ways!

The three of us and Ella ventured to a favourite little spot Drew and I found on one of our adventure drives. It has stayed in my head just waiting for the perfect time, and with the weather we’ve been having the last few days it felt right to visit it once more.

The golden hour here was beyond anything else. Watching it and feeling that sun go down was the cherry on top of these perfect photos! So this would be my first real official shoot with presets/editing and all. I have to say that it excites me to be able to create these beautiful images for these mamas and creatives who usually are behind a lens instead of in front of one!

Sometimes when I sit back and think about it, without some of the amazing photographers in my life who have helped me. I really wouldn’t have what I do! Paying it forward feels good! Having memories like this evening with friends feels good!

Vancouver {5 Places To Visit That You Will LOVE} GIVEAWAY

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Burrard Hotel for IZEA Worldwide. All opinions are 100% mine.V

If you ever visit Vancouver or your in the process of planning a weekend away there. It’s so easy to think to yourself “Where are some cool & good places to check out?” The beautiful part about Vancouver is that there is an endless amount of places to visit and the possibilities are endless. Codi and I had that perfect chance to sneak away for the evening and we were so lucky to get to know some really great places for us to try and of course some that we love to visit everytime we venture into Vancouver. We had a sweet taste of some new places and some go-to’s that I always love to visit!

It’s always such a treat being in great company and having a trip where everything goes right! It’s just magically fell into place for us and we had such a fun time away.

The Burrard

Our first stop was of course The Burrard. This place is a very fun retro vibe. A converted city motor hotel from 1956. It holds so much fun character and colour. I love it! If you’re ever in need of a low key and relaxing getaway this little slice of heaven is right center of the city giving you that city feel but also giving you a very quiet experience. As soon as you walk into this unique, gorgeous place the rush of the city seems to disappear. The palm trees center court, ping pong table, fireplace and bright beautiful colours is everything that’s needed to make for a chill stay.

Below with easy to get to Elysian coffee and Burgoo Restaurant. It’s the perfect one stop shop for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If your really into it, which of course we were… they have set up the convenience of the bicycles to take for a joyride around the city. Easy to check out and complimentary. It’s super easy to ride a little way down the street and hit up some key city places to visit.

I’m always so happy when we visit that the staff is always so helpful and so nice. Always ready and eager to help wherever they can and however they can. I definitely can’t forget the clean rooms, comfy beds, FREE WIFI, Nespresso Machines in every room and character pictures around the hotel. There’s something fun in every room.

The amenities are literally endless, you can read all of their hotel features here… https://theburrard.com/#amenities

It honeslty was so delicious! We indulged in a full course meal from Nachos to drinks and desserts. I left with a very full tummy! I loved the location as well, tucked in a quiet street was this totally bustling busy Tacofino. The best!

Medina Cafe

Morning came way to soon, normally does when you spend it kid less! After a deep sleep waking up my first thought is coffee. So off we went to Medina and it was worth every drop. Another really unique and special spot to visit. I loved the old look yet with a very modern twist to it. Serving the best leige-style waffles in the city and menu is full of mediterranean inspired dishes.

Full of healthy items to fill you up and the lattes to fuel you! To me visiting new spots is always a must, but revisiting special places I already adore means a lot to me as well. This trip carried both. And with that I walked away with new favourites to fall in love with. To recommend and to enjoy with the people who are close to me!

Karameller | YALETOWN

For a little afternoon treat we visited Karameller in YaleTown. Love YaleTown. If you ever need a few ideas to visit I would definitely recommend Luxe Spa, House Special, Small Victory, Fine Finds… just to name a few! Karameller is a family favorite so of course we stocked up on these sweet & sour Swedish treats for everyone home. The rows of candy go forever and it’s so nice to choose from recycled bags or jars. Makes for a perfect gift to!

Let’s Pass It Down To Our Kids | Light Recycling Habits!!

You know the phrase, “Monkey see, monkey do”? When you’re a family with little children, you know how true this can be! They watch us – constantly and everything we do and say is imprinted in their minds. Children so badly want to mimic the things we do as parents and want to be involved. When it comes to habits in my home that display values of home cleaning, responsibility, kindness to others, and recycling, I try really hard to make sure my kids follow my lead.

Keeping It Local Thanks To Moneris

Disclosure: I have partnered with YMC and Moneris and have received compensation for this post. All opinions are my own.

When you think of local businesses you think of how much they put into our communities. Jobs, economy, locally made treasures made from the heart. It’s the best feeling in the world as a customer knowing that the local business I helped support made a difference. To one or to many! With Moneris they are all about supporting our local heartfelt businesses that are making the communities around us blossom.

Drew and I recently made our date night all about this. Supporting local, so we had the pleasure of visiting our local restaurant Rodneys Oyster House with thanks to Moneris. This place was quaint and cute. Most importantly the food and service were incredible. We felt such a homey peaceful vibe here. Getting to know the business a little more. Where it started, how it became, whos visioned helped kick start this. Everything started from something small and became something so much greater all with what started as a small business.

We hardly ever get to indulge on a date night, but the biggest treat to us is indulging in a nice restaurant and food. So here we were in sea food lovers paradise! Oysters, mussels, crab cakes. We loved how affordable it was to eat here and with that we were able to order a few different plates and pick from each others to try! Everything was so tasty!

Moneris, Canada’s number one payment processor made our payment transaction super easy, no fuss just tap and go. Rooted and bred in Canada Moneris they are proud to be the payment solution partner Canadian businesses trust. Always ready to help and figure out any issues 24/7 if needed.

Without them it might’ve made our date night a little more stressful and it’s nice knowing that it’s always a good payment option to trust when out! We will for sure be back to Rodneys Oyster House knowing now what we do. Enjoying what we did, we love to support any local business that gives it it’s all and offers great things to us!
