I started this little fun one the other week I had full intentions of it actually not working out because a lot of what I try to do just doesn’t work out as planned sometimes. This one though threw me for a curve ball and not only turned out great but also tasted so good to.
See, I’m one of those weirdos that just doesn’t like pie crusts so this was kinda perfect for me. My husband thinks I’m crazy, I’m just not a crust person in general hahaha
A little hack on these cute & yummy handheld pies is getting pre-made pie crust. I went with tender flake and I let it thaw out in the fridge overnight before preparing with it. I also found the blueberry pie filling (which in all honesty I know I could’ve made pie filling myself) and then a heart cookie cutter I had laying around.
I pre-cut out my pie hearts, pre-heated the stove and started to fill the hearts. The filling doesn’t need to be a lot because it will pour out over the sides. It only needs a small amount. Then match up with another pie heart and indent the sides with a fork. Bake and done!
I heated up some extra blueberry filling for the side of my dish along with vanilla ice cream! It was the best afternoon treat with my coffee!
