SIMPLE SUMMER NIGHTS
Can you think of something so simple in life that has given you so much joy? For me, it’s those little moments that you think might turn out not so good but actually turn into the best memories! This was one of those nights, on a whim. Just meeting up with some friends Julie Christine Photography, Posie and Pine & Floralie Photography collaborating and we found the most gorgeous little spot in Chilliwack, B.C!
Summer is just one of those seasons where if the weather is just right & the sun hits you, it makes you feel alive and unwrapped of those winter blues. I quite often remember a time when I was younger & how differently I spent my Summer Nights now as an adult. Growing up in Nova Scotia it was fresh air, the smell of salt water & crashing ocean waves from my bedroom window. Clam digging & hermit crab hunting with friends. Naturally, all your stereotypical east coaster thoughts!
When I first moved to British Columbia at 18 I slightly remember thinking about how much I would miss the ocean. At first that isolated feeling, that I still get time and time again. The craving for sand between my toes & to get my hands on a lobster or fish & chips! Which is why trips back east are very necessary…
On those days where I’m feeling home sick Drew will help me, find that perfect lake side view of mountains or this scenic river with sparking water. Either way, no matter if I’m back home or here in British Columbia Summer Nights make me feel like a kid again. I traded in those ocean waves for mountains. I get to enjoy the best of both worlds if you ask me. Luckily, I get to experience both with my kids as well. Showing them the ropes in both places and creating simple summer memories!
If you think back to your childhood and one thing that you remember doing as a kid what would it be & where would it have been!?
