Well, as a family travel blog, this year has really taken a turn. With little travel but a big itch to explore we really started to pick our brains in search of something fun, travel like and close to home. We nailed it. A night with The Hilton Vancouver Downtown with the little ones and exploring Robson Street. One of my favourite streets to walk on in Vancouver. There is just so much to do and see!
The kids had a blast and having some quality time with them was the best. I really need to do it more often. We unpacked in our two bed bedroom, unwound for a minute or two and off we went to see what kind of fun we could get into!
Robson Street
The best part of the Hilton Vancouver is the part that it is downtown so it’s very close to many amenities and shops. Just a few blocks down you’ll find yourself landed right on Robson Street. Which is a quaint stretch of shopping, restaurants and fun places to check out. We always enjoy hanging out on Robson the street because electric in the evening with lights lit up and events happening once in awhile. It’s just a really fun place to check out.
The Candy Room
First stop THE CANDY ROOM on Robson Street. Candy from around the world. Literally any candy you could think of was here. The kids lost their shit about a million times. Just. So. Excited. The grabbed a bunch of their favourites and brought it back to the hotel for movie night!
Indigo Kids
Indigo Kids was the next stop. The Indigo on Robson Street is literally one of my favourites. I find so much, and I mean so much freaking stuff there that I love and that the kids love. So every visit I come out with things that I can’t always find at our local location. Ella found some super cute items and Owen found some things that suited him and well I found candles!
Mama found some sweet shopping finds at ZARA and it was just what I needed. The kids were so awesome and so patient with me finding items or telling me their advice haha.
Vancouver Mural Festival
Lucky for us too, it was Vancouver Mural Festival. While we walked around we found some really creative art works along the walls all over Robson Street.
The Cactus Club
For dinner we hit up the Cactus Club, we always enjoy our meals there so it was a no brainer. It was really kid friendly too, kids found chicken strips and they were just happy as could be. I think they thanked me about a million times for this trip. They walked their little butts off to. I was so proud of them!
Hilton Rooftop Pool & Hot Tub
After all of that excitement they were starting to get a wee bit tired. Back to the hotel we went. We settled for a little bit then of course we ventured to the rooftop hot tub and pool. The Westin Grand pool is one of our most favourites. It’s all outdoors and the pool is heated. It is so warm and fun to play in even if it’s raining out. Which it was!
Breakfast LADUREE
The next morning came way too soon. Up they were with me once again and walked to a treat breakfast at LADUREE. I love love love this place. Mouth freaking watering macaroons. The kids enjoyed breakfast ice cream and I double fisted coffee as we prepared to get ready to depart. They also serve a really delicious brunch and tea!
I can’t think of a better way to spend time with these little ones. The quality time spent with them was just what we needed to refuel for the week. Being alone with mama just gives them all the feels! Sometimes getting away and changing up the scenery even when it may be close to home is all you need to refuel for the coming weeks. We enjoy the extra amounts of “yess’s” while away and late nights binging on movies and treats. Sleeping in and throwing away any schedules or routines just for the stay away!
