Part 2!!!!
Nope I don’t waste anytime here. Because I wanted to share it all with you guys. Our trip was the BOMB. I had been planning this for months now with Flair Airlines and all these other wonderful spots we stopped at along our way. It all perfectly lined up and timed up with each other with zero stress or panic. Which is not like any other family trip we’ve ever travelled before!
Once we landed in Calgary from our Flair Air flight. We hoped off and headed straight to our rental on route to Banff. The drive was breathtaking through the rockies. We love the snow and we love the mountains so this trip was totally speaking to us the whole way through.
Our first stop was our lodge for the next two nights stay in Banff, Buffalo Mountain Lodge. Now, I have got to say, this lodge was the coziest place we’ve ever stayed at. We fell in love instantly. With the mountain views, warm fireplace, close coffee shop, Buffalo Mountain Cafe. We had a night to test out the restaurant and it was the best meal we’ve had out in a long time. Defiantly recommend a taste testing here!
When we first arrived there was a little bit of snow and then by the last day it really came down and it became a winter wonderland. We did not want to leave. This was one of the most homey accommodations we’ve ever stayed at. It was perfect for the kids too. I really appreciated their value of family lodging.
Two Jack Lake & Lake Minnewanka
Two really amazing spots that are worth checking out. Both very close to each other. And about 15 minutes outside of the town of Banff. We loved this scenic route!
By Saturday early afternoon, we headed to Banff Gondola. Making our lunch reservation at Sky Bistro and meeting my two high school friends and girls. It was literally up in the sky high, so much fun for all of us. This was the best Gondola ride we’ve ever experienced. The sky walk was amazing. With fireplaces and igloo to warm up. We got eager and did the boardwalk to the top, which wasn’t that bad. All four kids did it! Totally recommend making this fun family adventure!
And of course on our way down we had to stop for another freezing visit to Bow Falls. It’s one of mine and Drews favourite. It’s so serene, and the frost is so magical coming down the waterfall!
This one totally one on the list. A lot of places were closed for the Winter season, but Lake Louise was open even in the snowy weather. It was the best. We could hear the avalanche crashing far away of snow. The lake wasn’t quite frozen, the powder of snow made it even more breathtaking. Love this view and this place. So much fun exploring this area.
On our way out of Banff we stopped one more time to visit Tunnel Mountain. One really pretty scenic drive that we always take when visiting Banff. The views and look outs are worth the visit.
Then on route to Calgary my friends… more fun to come in part 3!!!
