Creating a Cozy Reading Corner with JYSK
Our family loves to create cozy spaces. Whether it’s with blankets, dim lights and movies. We love cozy & comfy spots in our home. We are always trying to create that “cozy” feel. One thing that has been on my list to-do for some time now has been to create a cozy reading corner. Just for me and possibly the rest of my family! But this one I had thought to dedicate just for myself. If I strangely ever get some quiet time I’d like to have that little space just for me to cozy into and just chill. And if children like to join me and relax then even more of a reason to do this!
I had a really easy time finding everything that would work perfectly for this with JYSK. I simply visited their website and pieced together these items using canva to make sure that the colours and style all went together nicely. I love being able to re-create rooms in my head using this design so that I can get a better idea of how it will all come together!
The colours are what really attracted my attention the subtle neutral colours that don’t scream colour or chaos. They look very peaceful and relaxing to me. Relaxing; key word here! Perfect for a small reading corner space.
I started with the chair which is main center fold here, everything will revolve and base itself around the chair. After I found the perfect one I based the rest of the furniture and items around that. The STIGEN pink ottoman to add that splash of soft colour. The Flower art print to add a hint of detail. These things all make a small but kind of a huge deal when looking to match a space.
I loved that JYSK offers so many different styled pieces that can go with anyone’s taste in home decor. They make so budget friendly for everyone as well. It’s easy to re-decorate a room on a nice budget here!
To create a reading corner space, figure out how big the space is and what you think would fit nicely. Don’t try to cram a lot into a small space sometimes less is more. Once you have your chair, find a end table or sideboard to sit next to it. I went with SKALS, because it was big enough to fit books inside, on top of etc. Then of course you need a lamp for some light. A soft & cozy blanket and pillow. And to add a little more homey feel an artificial plant or some candles!
Biggest thing is to make this space spark “joy” if you will and it’s a place that makes you feel happy when you walk by it. It feels inviting to you to take a minute to stop and just relax. Add all the happy pieces you have to this space to make it your happy little space! Enjoy decorating with JYSK like I did!
