FRESH GARDEN BLOOMS
Well I’m no pro when it comes to gardening, my whole family has been blessed with that “Green Thumb” except for me. It’s really the funniest thing. I try, let me tell you, I give it my all, but despite my better efforts I FAIL! I have so much nurturing to give, it just doesn’t work out for me!
I love, love, love fresh garden blooms & a full garden. I always reminisce this time of the year… I remember as a little girl, growing up my grandparents had tons of gardens. Flowers, vegetables and even apples, you name it they probably had it. It was always so fun to spend time with them. We would roam the gardens together in the Spring/Summer evenings helping with the weeds, 1 cent a dandelion (cough cough, rip off)! Checking out the new plants they just planted or what was soon to bloom. Sneaking some snacks before bed from the veggie garden or a sour apple!
To me those memories are so deep, pure & long lasting. My grandfather who had passed away a year before Owen was born, always had that deep connection with growing things & teaching us about plants & nature. The things he said might’ve been made up, I don’t even know. All I know is that as a kid in that moment I looked up to him and whatever he said sounded so cool & fun. He’ll forever be apart of those memories when I see a really gorgeous garden!
I love Minter Gardens, for this reason, it always reminds me of my grandparents. It’s so prestige & full of healthy gorgeous blooms. Sometimes I just like to wander the aisles even if I buy nothing. Just so fun to check out all the different plants available there. Plus, they always have the best advice & know the best choices for you and your garden. They recently just helped me fill some planters, easy peasy & they’re still all alive, so I guess I’m getting there with that whole “green thumb” thing!

I have such fond memories or being in my grandparents garden as well, eating those fresh garden carrots were the best thing ever.

I feel similarly to gardening. My mom was a gardener and everything about it made her so happy. Now that she is gone, I miss her gorgeous garden every spring.

Your T-shirt is the cutest.
Greenhouses and gardens always remind me of my Dad.
You are so right, even if you don\’t buy a thing wandering the aisles of a garden centre or greenhouse is so peaceful … it\’s restorative, even.
I love this post.
