Part 1 | Vancouver -> Calgary -> Banff | Flying Flair Airlines

{Disclosure this post was sponsored post as part of an collaboration program with Flair Airlines, however all opinions are my own}

We are back! We’ve been back from our amazing little family getaway for about two weeks now and I keep finding myself going to photos reminiscing. We really had an amazing trip away with our kids and so thankful we had this time with them and this whole experience.

Drew and I pre-kids use to travel to Banff quite often. We also use to only live like 4 hours away. So in our early stages of our relationship it was our Summer road trip tradition. Since having kids, we haven’t been back. So it was one of my goals to make sure they were also apart of the many happy memories Drew and I once made there. Because once you visit Banff, you want to over and over again it’s that beautiful.

This trip was more than just a regular family trip, it was a really meaningful and reminiscent trip for us. Drew and I felt old memories and we had that chance to make some new ones with our little ones!

London Drugs Beauty Event | 12 Beauty Faves

Sharing some beauty favourites today!

Last week, I had the opportunity to get together with the whole London Drugs Beauty Team and head to Whistler at the Fairmont for an overnight Beauty Press Trip Event. It was the event of a lifetime let me tell you. It was absolutely amazing and so nicely put together. We had an afternoon of visiting brands that all share products at London Drugs, then a Holiday Glam dinner with COTY. Followed by the next morning of workshops hosted by CONAIR, Avenue, Elizabeth Arden and Lise Waiter.

Date Night Done Right | DiBeppe The Burrard & FlyOver Canada

Drew and I could hardly remember the last night we had the chance to sneak away overnight alone, with no kids. It’s been at least a couple of years. So when we actually got the chance and lined daycare up to help us , we were beyond excited. Like, countdown excited!

Annnddd the last time we actually went out overnight in Vancouver was defiantly before children so yah, 11 years ago at least.

Needless to say we had a great time. Traffic was great. Timing was perfect. Each little thing we visited was awesome. We couldn’t complain at all. It was the best night away with each other just enjoying our company in peace!

Our first stop…

The Burrard

This was my third time visiting this city’s gem The Burrard Hotel, and of course Drew is always hearing about it. So I was very happy that I could finally take him and show him what it was all about. He loved the vibes and the quietness. The cool retro feel and colours just as much as I do. It’s close enough to downtown and everything around it! Made touring around a breeze.

FlyOver Canada

If there’s one fun thing you visit at Canada Place, well it HAS to be FlyOver Canada. It was one really cool experience. Even kids can enjoy! Owens been and he loved it and honestly was a little jealous he couldn’t come this time. But this trip was just for mom and dad. Inside once you enter, there is a really cool 6 minute light show along the walls of the room. Then you enter into another dark room where you learn all the safety procedures before seating into your seat.

It’s about 10-15 minutes once the ride starts. This specific one takes you through all over Canada (hence flyover Canada) It mists you, and helps you actually feel like you are flying over Canada. With Mountain tops, Canadas beautiful lakes, cities and more.

I can’t even describe it to as beautiful as it really is, it’s defiantly something that you need to go, to really understand the full effect of it. I love it and I’m excited to announce that there will be a new FlyOver Iceland happening in Vancouver August 29th and I’m even more excited that we are giving away two tickets below for you chance to see it!

DiBeppe Restaurant

Then of course we ATE> This is always something that makes it’s way into date night. And the thing I love most about Drew is his love for food and trying new restaurants with me. He never complains and loves the love put into each dish and place we visit.

DiBeppe is the cutest gem located in GasTown. On young Italian restaurant with an old Italian feel. With a whole Italy feel delivering a restaurant and attached cafe. We dug into our meals so fast. Everything from the appetizers to the full pizza and pasta were excellent. Defiantly had dessert, gelato and lattes.

It had such sweet charm and character to it. The staff was so genuinely nice and so helpful because of course we had lots of questions! We just enjoyed the best dinner here and really recommend anyone out on the town looking for a new place to dine at visit here. And would highly suggest reservations if it’s possible. It did get quite busy and for good reason!

Eco-Friendly Family Trip To Harrison Hot Springs

The idea of a family road trip being eco-friendly is seriously music to any of our ears. When you add up all the costs and pit stops it can be a lot to wrap your head around. And let’s face it a family road trip is sometimes not the most relaxing thing in the world so why not cut off some of the stress! Right?

Ultimate Family Stay with The Cove Lakeside Resort | Kelowna

We were eagerly awaiting this little destination trip with the entire family to The Cove Lakeside Resort located in West Kelowna. Our drive was quick and beautiful, so much scenery. The views of the mountains and lake was so nice to see. This was our first time travelling to Kelowna and visiting. It didn’t disappoint that is for sure.

Settled right on the edge of Okanagan Lake is this wonderful resort that is full of amenities, the location couldn’t be anymore perfect and the staff that work here totally have my heart. They were so accommodating and helpful. So eager to make sure that we had the perfect stay with them. I will always be super thankful for how great that made us feel by visiting. Oh I should also mention free parking!

The Cove Lakeside Resort is filled with things to see and things to do. Starting with their BonFire Restaurant. The Spa At The Cove, which one evening I even had the chance to sneak away to and receive an hour long massage. It was hands down the best massage I’ve ever had. So good to the point of falling asleep and waking up feeling in a relaxed fog all evening. I literally walked away and left all my stress. It was magical.

The boys even had their chance to adventure with LakeSurf Okanagan, located just beside The Cove Lakeside Resort at the marina. They rented a double kayak and went out for an hour around Okanagan Lake in the beautiful sunny weather. They also rent out boats, paddle boards, kayaks and more. We had the friendliest and most helpful service to. The boys enjoyed the assisting and being able to sneak away to take it all in.

Once they returned we all dipped into the outside pool or should I say poolsssss. Just outside in the front they have the best swimming area for the family. With tons of lounge chairs, umbrellas and two pools to cool off in one even having a long winding waterslide Owen loved!

With that they also have a hot tub, plus a fitness centre that also has it’s own hot tub…. and I’m not even down there! hahaha We even got to spend a little time in their private movie theatre equipped with a big screen and rows of lazy boy seating. And the perfect pairing is their snack baskets to purchase while watching your movie pick!

Like I said there is so much to explore just at The Cove Lakeside Resort. It’s perfect for families and meeting friends for a fun stay. They also provide bike rentals, tennis court and putting greens. Located just off to the side is the lake front beaches that connect to a walking trail that also leads into a park for the little ones! And if you feel like exploring the trail some more towards the other end leads you to docks and one more park!

Can’t forget our rooms! They were so full of space. With a full amenity kitchen, dining room, play area and office. With three full bedrooms that also have closets and full bathrooms. No fighting over who gets the better room because they were all the best. Moms, you will enjoy this, but they also provide laundry!! Single washer and dryers were located in our own room!! Squeal of joy when I saw this. Every trip there is always someone using up way to many outfits and getting dirty within two seconds. hahaha

If there’s one thing I love about vacation is being able to keep the little ones busy, having fun and relaxed. Drew and I both agreed though if all we did all weekend was relaxed on the suite porch over looking the lake drinking coffee and watching the kids play. That would’ve been just fine with us! But of course we toured around Kelowna to see what the busy, beautiful city had to offer and I will most defiantly say there is more to come…

This Summer if your planning your next stay in the Kelowna area I would for sure put The Cove Lakeside Resort on your bucket list of places to stay! You won’t want to leave!

Jones Lake Family Day

Finally, we were so lucky to have such a beautiful day on this day off with the whole family. So we escaped to the quiet, no noise in the middle of nowhere Jones Lake.

We love this view, I mean how could you not! The mountains and fresh air. It’s just so relaxing. The kids had a great time just being free, running around throwing rocks into the water and relaxing.

We needed more days like this. The drive up may have not been the smoothest on this logging road, haha.. But it made for an entertaining drive that’s for sure! But is it really an adventure if it doesn’t scare the shit out of you just a little?? haha

The goofiest faces for photos and off they went to play. Hoping to catch up with more cool mountain drives this Summer with this beautiful, fun family of mine! Possibly camp up here… who knows… start the planning now!

Beaches To Visit | Tofino to Ucluelet

Growing up by the ocean holds a huge part of my childhood memories. So naturally we love being near the ocean always. Thats a big thing that makes us the most home sick, missing being near the beach. It’s another big reason to why we love visitng Tofino. The endless beaches to explore. Everything that reminds us of Nova Scotia. The relaxed atmosphere and chill vibes. The fresh ocean air and sounds of waves.

Family Memories Made at Pacific Sands

Once again we  had the most perfect opportunity to visit one of our favorite family destinations Pacific Sands located in Tofino. We spent two nights and three days at this beautiful place and for the second year in a row we made some really awesome family memories. Each time we leave a family holiday we always ask the kids if they are leaving with the best memories and they always say yes! That is when we know we’ve just had a successful trip!

Vancouver {5 Places To Visit That You Will LOVE} GIVEAWAY

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of The Burrard Hotel for IZEA Worldwide. All opinions are 100% mine.V

If you ever visit Vancouver or your in the process of planning a weekend away there. It’s so easy to think to yourself “Where are some cool & good places to check out?” The beautiful part about Vancouver is that there is an endless amount of places to visit and the possibilities are endless. Codi and I had that perfect chance to sneak away for the evening and we were so lucky to get to know some really great places for us to try and of course some that we love to visit everytime we venture into Vancouver. We had a sweet taste of some new places and some go-to’s that I always love to visit!

It’s always such a treat being in great company and having a trip where everything goes right! It’s just magically fell into place for us and we had such a fun time away.

The Burrard

Our first stop was of course The Burrard. This place is a very fun retro vibe. A converted city motor hotel from 1956. It holds so much fun character and colour. I love it! If you’re ever in need of a low key and relaxing getaway this little slice of heaven is right center of the city giving you that city feel but also giving you a very quiet experience. As soon as you walk into this unique, gorgeous place the rush of the city seems to disappear. The palm trees center court, ping pong table, fireplace and bright beautiful colours is everything that’s needed to make for a chill stay.

Below with easy to get to Elysian coffee and Burgoo Restaurant. It’s the perfect one stop shop for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If your really into it, which of course we were… they have set up the convenience of the bicycles to take for a joyride around the city. Easy to check out and complimentary. It’s super easy to ride a little way down the street and hit up some key city places to visit.

I’m always so happy when we visit that the staff is always so helpful and so nice. Always ready and eager to help wherever they can and however they can. I definitely can’t forget the clean rooms, comfy beds, FREE WIFI, Nespresso Machines in every room and character pictures around the hotel. There’s something fun in every room.

The amenities are literally endless, you can read all of their hotel features here… https://theburrard.com/#amenities

I loved the location as well, tucked in a quiet street was this totally bustling busy Tacofino. The best!

Medina Cafe

Morning came way to soon, normally does when you spend it kid less! After a deep sleep waking up my first thought is coffee. So off we went to Medina and it was worth every drop. Another really unique and special spot to visit. I loved the old look yet with a very modern twist to it. Serving the best leige-style waffles in the city and menu is full of mediterranean inspired dishes.

Full of healthy items to fill you up and the lattes to fuel you! To me visiting new spots is always a must, but revisiting special places I already adore means a lot to me as well. This trip carried both. And with that I walked away with new favourites to fall in love with. To recommend and to enjoy with the people who are close to me!

For a little afternoon treat we visited Karameller in YaleTown. Love YaleTown. If you ever need a few ideas to visit I would definitely recommend Luxe Spa, House Special, Small Victory, Fine Finds… just to name a few! Karameller is a family favorite so of course we stocked up on these sweet & sour Swedish treats for everyone home. The rows of candy go forever and it’s so nice to choose from recycled bags or jars.
