Let’s Go To The Lake | 7 Local Family Favourites

Happy Summer Everyone!

I really wanted to share some of our Summer break hot spots with you because we all love our favourite places to go to but sometimes forget about the hidden gems we don’t normally think about. I’ve put together a list here of our family favourite lakes to go to every year!

  1. Cultus Lake

Don’t recommend putting all of your eggs into this basket especially on the weekends. But if you catch this trip in and it’s easy to drive through with no waiting than take advantage because this lake is gorgeous. So gorgeous that it’s usually SO busy. Which is why we will drive all the way down to Maple Bay area and walk a little bit to get a quiet spot for our family. We like the quiet spots with privacy! Once you find your spot here though it’s super hard to leave it, it’s so much fun and the views are pretty. Plus theres a ton around to do like get lunch, ice cream play parks etc.

2. Hicks Lake

A big time favourite it’s quite the drive past Harrison but so worth the trip. So quiet and peaceful plus the water is sooo warm. It’s really well kept and lots of spots available.

3. Jones Lake

This isn’t typically the most ideal place to swim, but man the views are so amazing. We drive up here once a year just for the scenery. The logging road scares the shit out of you on the way up, but just close your eyes the whole way like I do!

4. Harrison Lake

This spot is super easy to locate, and it is one of our faves. Over time we have come to love the spot over by the townhouse instead of the little man made lake. The water is cooler but it’s so much more fresh! Theres a cute little park nearby and lots to eat along the strip.

5. Lindeman Lake

It’s a longgg hike so if you have smaller children I suggest leaving them home. Although Owen has done it at 3 years. It totally depends on patience and how much they can handle. The view is off the charts and the water is totally cooler but on a hot day after hiking the trail you’ll appreciate it.

6. Chilliwack Lake

This lake is just past the Lindeman Trail just 10 minutes past with a little bit of a hike. Nothing major. It’s a really pretty spot sooo quiet and the sand is the best playing sand!

7. Silver Lake

We’ve gone camping here before, the water at some areas of the lake is pristine and others not so much. But there lots of spots to explore!

Happy travels friends and if you ever need directions or to find our secret hiding spots at these locations please feel free to ask! We love this area we live in and exploring it!
