Modern Farmhouse Dining Table + Bench | DIY with Home Hardware

Well I have been patiently awaiting the Holidays and it’s creeping up around the corner. Which has our whole family very excited because we love Christmas. The whole spirit of it, the energy and uplifting good we see around us. It’s an exciting feeling that is so powerful. But most importantly the best thing about Christmas is the good food, am I right?

With the two kids growing rapidly, I noticed that our previous table was getting a tad bit too small for us. Every evening we’d find ourselves bumping elbows with our neighbors and at first it was funny. But then it got kinda annoying I gotta admit. We had to alternate bites waiting for the elbow of our table neighbor to move.

We got to talking and figured out that we really needed a bigger dining table. Thinking about it I really knew that it could be pulled together, but it also seemed kind of too big of a project for me. Which at the end of the day made us feel like we needed to prove ourselves wrong and master this project with the help from Home Hardware.

Help us they did, once we all decided on a style, materials and sizing we sort of went off a couple of designs to come to one the four of us liked and all agreed on.

Once our materials from Home Hardware arrived, I got right to work on this. It honestly turned out even more amazing than I thought it would and I’m so proud of all of us for accomplishing this goal.

I’m so excited to make some really amazing family memories gathering around this table that we made together as a family. Everyone had a say and made a part in pulling this off!

Materials:

● Router

● Table Saw

● Screws

● Wood Glue

● Sander grit 120

● Wood Gloss Poly

● Kreg Tool

● Red Oak

How To:

Table Top

● Cut 4 pieces at 2”x10” at 6”, combing them side by side to 3 ‘1” secure with 2×4 underneath the table top screwed together.

Table

● Cut 4 legs at 4×4” and a middle piece at 5”4 & 2 end pieces at 2”4. Securing the table top of the 4 legs. Adding two 2”4 at the ends of the table and 1 piece at 5”4 right down the center of the table. Holding it all together in place.

Bench

● Cut 2”x12” at 5’8”. Then cut bench legs 2 2”x12” at 15 ½”. Set the bench on top of both legs and secure it into place. I added blocks big enough to sit in each corner to screw in each side to set in place.

Here it is all ready and prepared for Holiday Gatherings with family and friends! I carefully selected some amazing pieces at Home Hardware Kitchens selections for your home. There you will find a lot of tasteful items that will really give your home and your dining room that extra sparkle. Perfect for entertainment and having guests over during the Holidays.

I hand selected the Urban White dinnerware set, set of 6 Holiday mugs, Cotton Plaid Linens, Round Bamboo Serving set, Ribbed Tumbler cups & Grande Flatware set. It all came together so pretty!

Can’t wait to feast around it this Christmas!
