Easy Steps To Safety Proofing Your Home with Door Guardian

Since our babies have been born we’ve been safety proofing our home & it feels necessary to now keep on with this tradition. Because you see, we have a little flight risk for a little one who loves to open doors to help herself or even try to flee. Which for many parents that’s a really scary thing, to kids they think it’s hilarious. We have a few doors in our home that are still scary for us to think if the kids opened and got into. One would be our garage door. Behind that door is a whole whack load of things for our kids to get into that aren’t all that safe.

Drew and I recently started to learn more about Door Guardian and we got to work installing them. Which was super easy to do and only took us a few minutes. We also love how easy it still was for us adults to use and open. Door Guardian offers many different products for safety proofing doors. Including Outswing, Inswing, Refrigerator, Patio & Locks. We installed both the Inswing & Outswing.

Door Guardian is not only just for safety proofing for toddlers but also for families that help take care of elders or relatives with Alzheimer’s. It really does cover all aspects for anyone. We loved how it added an extra safety feature for our doors that could be easily broken into as well. They are cost effective and blend in nicely with doors without standing out too much.

To install you simply measure the spot you’d like it placed. Peel off the 3M tape cover and stick it to the spot. Then you’ll take your screws and screw it in place nice and solid. Once it’s locked you’ll take your, what’s essentially the key for it and use that to easily open and close it.

Feels so nice having it secured and locked in. I don’t feel worried at all that she’ll sneak her way into the garage and get into things that she really shouldn’t. It’s easy to install for rentals as well and you really can never be too careful! For us it’s the extra sense of security knowing our doors are all locked up safe and sound, that our little ones are protected. Find Door Guardian online & for any questions visit their website for more information!
