Budget Friendly Room Refresh Ideas!

Well this self isolation time was spent wisely. We managed to get a lot of things on our to-do list checked off while being home. With things slowly opening up and being creative at home with items we already had laying around for a rainy day, we managed to refresh Ellas big girl room and wanted to share some really easy, money saving ideas that you can do to refresh your home!

Key word being budget friendly!

  1. Dollar Store Frames & Free Printable’s $5

These little “vintage” styled frames are adorable. I love them and once in awhile I just pick up a couple to add to the collection. Plus taking advantage of free printable is alway a added bonus.

2. Walmart Curtains $25

For both kids rooms I use these airy feeling curtains. I find them super reasonable priced as well as the curtain rods. Spending only $25 dollars on the two sheer panels and curtain rod! Gives their rooms a fresh feel and very easy to clean.

3. Value Village $20

Is always my go-to for home goods. I picked up this oval vintage mirror and IKEA storage baskets for $20. I painted the oval mirror with homemade chalk paint!

4. Thrift Store $4.50

In our home and for my style I really like mixing new items with some old vintage items. They have a story to tell and I love keeping them in our home to live on. These frames I found at a thrift store basically in pieces. So I salvaged them and got rid of the glass and backings. Painted the wooden frames with homemade chalk paint and hung them up!

5. Facebook Marketplace $160 Bed frame & Box Spring

Sometimes a pain in the butt to finish a deal on Facebook Marketplace but once in awhile you’ll find yourself striking gold! We found this gorgeous IKEA bed frame and boxspring for $160. It was a steal of a deal and perfect for Ella. She adores it and we saved a lot of money!

6. Antiques $75 Dresser & Nightstand

Sometimes, not always. I will sneak into an antique store, this love for visiting is from my mother. Growing up this was a childhood tradition and as much as it was boring then I do enjoy it now. I found this dresser and nightstand set for $75. Brought them home and re-furbished them. They turned out great. Ellas had them since she was a baby.

7. Michaels Canvas Art $9

This was another little project we worked on that was super cheap to do. I grabbed some pretty pastel paints and small canvas’s from Michaels for $9 and let little Ella create!

Have fun getting creative and saving some money while doing it!
