Cooking Is Always Better Together | Better Together BC Kitchen Hack Challenge

There is no better time spent  than hanging out in the kitchen, cooking with family. I mean our kitchen, like in most homes is the hub of the home. The meeting grounds of where we all find each other every morning for breakfast, lunch, snacks in between the day and then dinner… and maybe a snack before bed to yah know! We are always in the kitchen.

One thing that I have learnt over the years cooking and baking with kids which is the sheer joy they get from helping create a yummy dish… one of the most gratifying feelings ever. To see them pitch in and serve and see how happy they become when they make something really tasty for the family is priceless. I mean, I know that feeling. We all do, how happy we get when we make something to eat that everyone is gushing over! It’s a good feeling. Right!

We are always encouraging the kids to be independent in the kitchen cooking. Getting their hands in there and learning new things. Especially now. We are quite honestly in the perfect timing of our self isolation routine to help our kids learn basic kitchen skills. Sharing with them old and new recipes and cooking together is always better.

We are lucky to share today something fun that you can do with your family in the kitchen while home! To help save time and make things a little easier when cooking is creating fun kitchen hacks. Whether it’s prepping meals the night before,  pre-measuring ingredients or a quick tip recipe that helps you cook quicker and spend more time with your family hanging out.

With that we are happy to announce  Better Together BC’s Kitchen Hacks Challenge Contest.

Contest begins April 22nd and runs until May 22nd 2020

Families across British Columbia are encouraged to share a small video of their best kitchen hack. Something that you do to make cooking and eating together as a family easier.

The video can be 60 seconds or less and the grand prize winner will receive $1000 Cash and a $1000 will be donated to Food Banks BC.

To top it off for every entry made in this challenge Better Together BC & BC Dairy Farmers will donate $100 to Food Banks BC.

I’m very excited for this challenge and to be a part of it! One of our Kitchen Hacks at our home is picking up salad kits at our local grocery store and adding some of our veggies to it. We love the convenience of doing these up with dinner and adding in pre-cooked chicken. Our kids love it, one night we cook up chicken strips and cut them into pieces and add them in! Makes for a quick and easy dinner idea that the kids also really enjoy and can help me with!

Check out my Instagram to find our kitchen hack and I can’t wait to see yours!
