Perfect Picnic & Best Friends

A couple of months ago Ella & I were invited to Sarah’s lovely, no GORGEOUS river front home to spend an evening with the girls taking photos! Sarah is the talented maker behind Isn’t She Lovely. Which of course you have to check out, she makes beautiful little pieces for girls from recycled material! I’m always up for times like these, not only because it’s freaking adorable to dress them up but they also have such a great little friendship!

It’s so funny how things work out for a reason. Sarah, who I met at the last Vintage Barn Market & Vanessa Marie Studios who I randomly met on Instagram forever ago,  all got together and a sweet little friendship grew! Not only did I gain friendships but so did my daughter! Ella and her little friend Lexi are only weeks apart in age and could honestly pull off being cousins. They look so similar sometimes!

Having that one good friend to meet for playdates was always a struggle for me when Owen was little. I was 20 at the time and at that in between age where friends either were far from having babies or way passed me having babies. I couldn’t seem to find that in between. I really missed that one on one playtime for him & myself! Now, he has them almost every week or everyday…

I also always found myself so nervous of meeting those moms that judged every move I made. The older I got the more I reminded myself ‘Quality Over Quantity’. I would much rather have few friends who really cared about me, than a million friends who ‘kinda’ cared. My friendships are a reflection of who I want to be and my family that surrounds me. They should bring out your true self & help to make you feel good with YOU! The ones that inspire you & keep you grounded. Those are the friendships that matter!

Having the girls friendship means so much. Having that support and being able to relate as they get older in age together. Watching them interact and learn from each other is always so much fun to see. We seem to hit so many similarities & milestones with our toddlers, it’s always nice to have someone who understands what it’s like. Someone to find a reason to actually put on clean clothes and get ready to meet up. Just someone to talk to that’s over 2 years old. I guess not only does my child need that friendship, but I do too!

This picnic was so beautifully set up & another reminder on just how lucky we are to have the best of friends! Find that mom squad that helps you appreciate their friendship & open ears and hang on tight!
